Porthcawl is a town in Bridgend, Wales. It has a population of 16,005. The town lies 19 miles southeast of Swansea and 25 miles west of Cardiff.

The town is a holiday resort, and there are a number of beaches in Porthcawl. Sites of interest include the ruins of nearby Kenfig Castle, which dates from the Middle Ages. The ruins are a Scheduled Monument. The Seabank Hotel dates from the mid-1930s and is one of the most prominent landmarks in Porthcawl. Coney Beach Pleasure Park is an amusement park in the town and opened in 1920. The amusement park features a number of rides. Porthcawl Promenade was constructed in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee and was restored in 1996. The Grand Pavilion opened in 1932 and hosts theatre, concerts, ballroom dancing and pantomime.

A range of events take place in Porthcawl, such as Porthcawl Town Carnival, the Porthcawl Jazz & Blues Festival, Surf Cult and the Elvis Festival.

Porthcawl has facilities for sports including surfing, skateboarding, rollerblading, golf, football and rugby. Porthcawl Town Athletic F.C. play their home games at Locks Lane.
